This is one of our favorite things for breakfast at our house. Homemade granola and yogurt. It is very simple to make and is sure to be a favorite for your kids, especially since they can help make it! My boys love to measure and mix all the dry ingredients and then stir everything together before I place it in the oven. Give it a try you are sure to love it!

Homemade Granola

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Oats, old fashioned
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Sunflower Seeds, raw and unsalted
  • 3/4 cup Almonds, sliced
  • 3/4 cup Pumpkin Seeds, raw and unsalted
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Mix together all dry ingredients; Oats, brown sugar, seeds, and nuts. Bring to a boil in a small saucepan the water, oil, honey, and peanut butter. Stirring occasionally. When it begins to boil remove from heat and add vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place on greased or silicone mat covered cookie sheet. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Stirring every 15 minutes. Remove when lightly browned. It will harden as it cools. Stir a few times during cooling process so that it doesn’t form a large hard clump. Allow to cool completely before placing in an airtight container. Stays fresh about 3 weeks.

Note: You can add any kind of dried fruit to this granola, just add it AFTER it bakes or else your fruit pieces will become to hard to eat.
