Life has been so crazy the last couple of weeks with my husband traveling, me being sick, kids sick, grandfather passing, and etc. Hopefully life will slow down for a moment so that I can catch my breathe. Something that calms my mind when life gets hectic is simple cooking in the kitchen, such as cooking a egg. But not just any egg, a deliciously moist hard-boiled egg. I have to admit that hard-boiling an egg wasn’t always simple cooking for me. More often than not I was frustrated with the end result. I would get green rings around the yolks or extremely dry yolks, or even worse, uncooked yolks.

There are so many ways that you can hard-boil an egg. I don’t like my yolks overly dry, but I also don’t like them soft and under cooked. I like them perfectly cooked and creamy. Over the last 8 years of marriage, I have come up with the perfect procedure for hard-boiling an egg to meet my expectations. If you follow my steps you should be able to produce the perfect hard-boiled egg every time.Hard-Boiled Eggs

{Note: When it begins to boil I add 4 drops of food coloring to the water. This is to help me identify which are hard-boiled and which are regular eggs, when placed back into the egg carton. I used to write “HB” on each egg with a permanent marker, but I have come to prefer the slight difference in color better.}Hard-Boiled EggsHard-Boiled Eggs
